Hare Krishna Maharajas and Prabhus,
Please accept my most humble obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
I was in Nagpur for Radhastami, and one of our congregation who works at the Institute for Chartered Accountants, India, Nagpur Branch, approached me for doing program at his institute.
I agreed, and entered into a correspondence with their chairman, CA Suren Durakar. I formally accepted their invitation.
Upon arrival at the Institute on the day of the program, 10th September, 2019, I was introduced to the chairman and other staff members. They were all super respectful and addressed me as “Guru Ekalavyaji”.
When I inquired about any sensitivities in the presentation, the chairman openly stated, “Just make sure you tell them about Bhakti. They should know that there is a Supreme, and we are His servants.” I was quite surprised and happy to be able to speak direct KC philosophy with a minimum of caution to other people’s potential sensitivities.
I spoke on “Winning the Game of Life”. I showed a .ppt. H.G. Acarya Ratna Prabhu (Kolkata) and I had presented in a similar topic at a Prerana Youth Festival in Kolkata, and he kindly sent me the .ppt.
I focused on the topics of “Honesty and Integrity”, which is essential part of being a Chartered Accountant.
My lecture was well received by the 200 plus attendees. The chairman sent me a thank you letter (see below) and informed me that the institute has approx. 160 branches across India, so there seems plenty of scope for additional programs.
In the future, I feel a good strategy could be to plan a 6 session, Intro to BG course, and encourage the CA students and staff to enroll in our course, at the time of delivering the program at an ICAI branch. This way, the positive energy could be channeled into helping the ICAI members to further their knowledge of BG and give them access to devotee association.
I welcome your feedback and suggestions.
Thank you very much,
